How to personalise a family canvas you will love for years

A personalised canvas works hardest when the words you choose feel quietly inevitable, like they were always going to be on the wall.
Start with the people. Family canvases look best with three to eight names; longer lists work too, but they need a larger size to keep each name legible at arm's length.
Add a date. An 'Established 2014' or a wedding date anchors the design to your story and stops the canvas feeling generic.
Finally, choose the smallest words last. A subline or short message lets the design breathe and gives the eye somewhere to land. Less almost always wins.
